Do the North – 143 BEWERTUNGEN
Cannot express fully how fantastic it was to be in this pristine beautiful place.
We’d never set foot in a kayak before, my husband had never camped.
We had a holiday that we’ll never forget.
The silence was so restful, only birds and the sea; we live in a busy city which is never silent and only occasionally quiet.
The paddling was hard work, but fun and the only sensible way to get about in this lovely area.
We spent 8 days in the Archipelago and from start to finish the team is awesome. They really take care of your trip and will be as accomodating as possible to fill all your requests and needs. I would recommend this trip to anyone wanting to experience the wilderness and doing some exercise. All the provided stuff is top notch quality, it really helps to enjoy the trip. Don't forget to take a good camera because the landscapes are awesome!
Kayaking and wild camping in itself was wonderful as it is so peaceful. Then add in foraging for your food and helping to cook it, it then takes this trip to another dimension. Helena, the chef, cooks up the most amazing food for you, all on the camp fire. She even makes waffles, an apple pie and granola. There are some delicious stews, amazing wraps and delicious fish, caught in the archipelago all using various foods that you have foraged for. If you want a holiday just to get away from everything, relax and eat fantastic food then definitely book this one, I cannot praise it enough.
We are experienced kayakers and were delighted to find the gear was first class. Everything was catered for and packed into boxes or stuffsacks and fitted perfectly. All we brought was our clothes and kayaking gloves.
The trip itself was wonderful. Thousands of islands - very few people and perfect weather. It’s an amazing part of the world and we were so glad to have made the journey to enjoy it.
Thanks to Do the North and all the crew we met for a special holiday.
In case you're doubting about whether kayaking in St Anna & Gryt area is worthwhile, I'll keep it short: it's an amazing experience. It's hard work, but if you're up for that, it's an extremely rewarding and enjoyable way to spend your time off. If you have the energy and the time, I'd recommend a longer rather than a shorter trip, there's more than enough to see.
We explored a different island each night, swimming, setting up our tents, cooking and planning our next route as the sun went down. We would definitely recommend it to anyone who enjoys being outside, and wants to get away from the hustle and bustle of day to day life. In three words... wild, adventurous & exciting.
What a fantastic experience! Two of us signed up to this on a friend's recommendation and couldn't have been more impressed. 7 days kayaking and Do the North provided everything we needed from top quality kayaks to tents and camping gear to excellent food and recipes.
The kit was meticulously planned to meet all out needs, and the pre-adventure briefing set our minds at ease before setting out on our own. Would recommend to anyone!
Everything that was told to us before the trip was 100% accurate and in the end the trip surpassed our expectations. Everything was so simple and easy that you really do just turn up with a backpack and DTN do the rest!
We had a really amazing time visiting landmarks, spotting eagles and seals, and swimming in the sea.
We are already planning our next trip next year - the archipelago is so big that I reckon there is truly enough for at least 3 or 4 trips to see it all!
The attention to detail taken by the Do The North team and our fantastic tour guides Adam and Thomas helped create a really great atmosphere within my group and set us up with everything we needed to enjoy both the kayaking and camping aspects of our trip.
Food was amazing, equipment was top of the range, views on the islands were stunning and the kayaking was fun and actually relaxing for the majority of the time.
I could go on but I won’t. Trust in the Do The North website and the information given as I can attest it is highly accurate, informative and doesn’t try to oversell what they actually give you, which was an amazing holiday/experience.
Dothenorth was recommended to me by a friend who has been multiple times with them.
I did the solo traveller trip and cant recommend it enough. Everything was planned out and ready for us beforehand, so all we really had to do was load up the kayaks and off we went for 5 days in the wild.
Waking up on a different island every morning and the scenery of the archipelago in my opinion is loads better than sitting by a pool.
This has been one of the best holidays I’ve been on!
